Degrease, acid, passivate.
On stainless steel the part is degreased, pickled in an acid solution and passivated. The order matters: grease comes off first, then the layer disturbed by heat or forming, and the surface is left passive.
It is a shop finish, not a coating. If an order needs a specific procedure, it is agreed with the commercial office before manufacture.
- 01Degrease
Grease comes off before the part enters the acid.
- 02Pickle
The acid solution removes the layer disturbed by heat or forming.
- 03Passivate
The surface is left passive. It is not a coating.
